I remember walking home from school all bundled up .. that silence of fresh fallen snow glistening all around me...and settling in me.... I was always in awe that these perfect little art forms of crystalized water could have such a lasting effect and then....just melt away. It is a truly unforgettable feeling to receive the earth sharing its peace this way. I love that your words remind us all to relish the silent gifts and p a u s e for p e a c e.... And thank you for giving me credit on the snow photo. I take it you took the rest of those really fine photos on the blog. Do you have any other professional skills like helicopter pilot, sky diver, etc? That was the best retreat I have ever been on at the Monastery. Only the Rev. Storm Swain+ after 9-11 can compare to it. Maybe I better not say that. Cathedral Clergy probably read this blog. But hey. You know how I am.
